I'm SO Excited! After a few years of gathering and editing photos, evaluating platforms, envisioning the ideal website and writing content, here we are!
It's a strangely vulnerable feeling, casting 'ME' out there into the vast world of the interwebs, this website is a culmination of everything I have accomplished professionally and personally and...there I am. If I was on stage you would think there would be some sort of trumpet fanfare or sound effect, but here at my table not far from the ocean in Comox, there is just the faint click of my mouse as I hit the 'Publish' button. My soul wants to sing and dance and jump around, dammit!
I am headed to the Victoria Whisky Festival this weekend to be surrounded by the 'Whisky Fabric' of wonderful friends and acquaintances that are gathering the first time in three years. Whisky tastings, learning from people with vast experience and amazing tasting and nosing abilities, laughter, silliness and camaraderie...this will be the inspiration for my first official blog post next week!
SO - what will the Spirited Chef posts be?
I intend that each post will have some history and tasting notes on a spirit that I choose (most likely a whisky, but there is such a great world of gin, and tequila, and rum, and so many other things out there...) and then a recipe for a dish that I create to either pair with that spirit or containing the spirit as an ingredient - or both!
With inspiration from my Chef Heroine Martine Nouet, the 'Queen of the Stills', I send this piece of my heart out into the world - I sincerely hope you enjoy, learn, and create with me!
