WHAT PEOPLE SAY

LEON WEBB
Distillery Manager, Tamnavulin Distillery, Scotland, previously Master Distiller, Shelter Point Distillery, Vancouver Island, BC

I have worked with Taylore in tastings, events and festivals and have always found her to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and engaging when discussing whisky and flavour. I am always astounded by her incredible pairing suggestions such as when she suggested I try fresh arugula to bring out a particular note in a whisky (something I had never thought of before). It worked beautifully and gave me a whole new perspective on what is possible in the realm of flavour combinations. After introducing me to her flavour bible, my mind was opened to new possibilities.

Taylore has the talent and creativity to bring inspired recipe ideas that wouldn’t be out of place in Heston Blumenthal’s ‘Fat Duck’ restaurant in the UK. A place where experiments with liquid nitrogen and asparagus injected with carrot oil is part of a normal day’s work. The kind of groundbreaking innovation that questions everything and gains you three Michelin stars. I whole-heartedly recommend that you follow the Spirited Chef, as she weaves her sensory magic and opens a world of organoleptic delight that will captivate your soul.

I'm so excited for Taylore to final begin the journey she was meant to go on. The Spirited Chef will be a fantastic opportunity for Taylore to use her extensive knowledge of scotches and pair with her other love - food. As someone who has spent a lot of time with her through part of her culinary journey, I'm excited to see where this will go. But if I know nothing else, I know that Taylore will put her heart, soul, and amazing palate to work here and her readers are in for a treat!

Over the past many years, I have had the immense pleasure of tasting hundreds of different whiskies with Taylore. Taylore brings an intense passion to her whisky tasting experiences, and I always marvel at her ability to discern aromas and flavours in a nuanced and precise manner that I attribute to her vast knowledge and love of food and her skills and knowledge of all things culinary. As an experienced whisky drinker who has tasted thousands of whiskies, I appreciate Taylore's contributions and insights as she allows me to expand and explore my own extensive whisky journey. And you know what else? She's damn fun!

Taylore is an inspiration to those around her.  She not only brings a wealth of knowledge to any project she is involved in, she also has an unparalleled creativity.

Having worked with her to create food and drink events such as ‘Sip & Savour Salt Spring’, I also witnessed her ability to elevate already great kitchens with her understanding of terroir and how it impacts food and drink pairings.

Her classes are a joy to all who attend - don't miss the chance to be around this amazing chef!

Chef Darnel produced for our whisky tasting events a unique and creative menu of food pairings.

Many might wonder why anyone would pair food with whisky. But Taylore knows that the unique combination of the right foods with certain whiskies creates an exquisite sensory experience.

Her culinary skills combined with her artistic ability to find the right pairing is what makes her the 'Spirited Chef'.

I have worked with Taylore more than once. She provided me with excellent advice and planning skills when I was arranging a special event. Her expertise in all things food and event related, definitely made the difference between a mediocre experience and the "wow" level event that was our final result. I couldn't have been happier. She pulls out all the stops and adds her own extra flourish to everything she does. Taylore has also given us a personal farm to table experience where we visited a local farmers market and then she showed us how to make some amazingly delicious food that was also photo worthy. Her unique ability to combine flavours and visuals leaves me awaiting her next creation.

Trip Advisor Reviews

In 2019 I had the privilege of traveling to Prince Edward Island, working as Executive Chef of the much-awarded Table Culinary Studio, where I wrote and taught unique classes on local food and beverages and food-related history and created farm-to-table long table dinners. These are some of the comments left on Trip Advisor by the guests that experienced those classes and dinners...

A highlight of our vacation!

We did the Need for Mead Class and it was fantastic. The meal that Chef Taylore helped us prepare was delicious and she taught us several great little tricks. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys cooking and eating something special!
